conference: business strategies and trade with china, 3/21

Published by T Chow at 10:59 am under Business, China

The Monterey Bay International Trade Association (MBITA) keeps on sending me emails, and so I wanted to pass on this information. MBITA is hosting a free conference entitled “Business Strategies and Trade With China”. Here are the details:

Date/Time: Friday, March 21, 2008, 9:00a.m. - 5:00p.m.
Location: Steinbeck Forum, Monterey Conference Center, 1, Portola Plaza, Monterey
Registration: free and open to the public; MIISTradeConference@gmail.com

In keeping with the Peninsula’s increasingly global reach, the Monterey Institute of International Studies hosts a conference on trade policy and trade regulations between China and the US. China attracts major investment from the West and offers huge business opportunities. This trade conference will dispel the common myth that such opportunities are for large corporations by increasing awareness of the rules and the range of economic opportunities for SMEs.

Representatives from Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the US Trade Representative’s Office, and other local and foreign trade officials will educate conference participants about how to find business partners in China, how to manage transportation and logistics in China, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) protection, and how to find markets in more dispersed and small urban areas.

Sounds interesting since (1) the conference targes SME’s and (2) PRC and USPTO representatives will be there.
