conference: employment law goes global, 5/30
From the San Francisco Bar Association, the Labor and Employment Section is hosting a 2008 International Employment Conference and entitled, “ Employment Law Goes Global: Focus On Asia And The Pacific Rim“. It will be held at the Bankers Club, 555 California Street, 52nd Floor, San Francisco, CA, from 9am-5pm on May 30 (5/30). This conference is also good for 7 hours of MCLE credit. Here is their overview:
With the enormous investment of capital and the expansion of U.S. business in Asia and throughout the Pacific Rim, an increasing number of employment lawyers and human resource professionals are being called upon to respond to issues that commonly confront their clients and companies when doing business in China, Japan, India, Korea and throughout the east.
With that in mind, there are the following sessions:
Doing Business in The Pacific Rim – One Size Does Not Fit All: A comparison of the laws of China, Japan, India and South Korea
Cross Border Mergers and Acquisitions
Human Resource Issues Challenging Multi-National Companies
Corporate Social Responsibility Programs and How They Impact Human Resource and Labor Relations Policies
Why they want to teach cross border M&A is beyond me, but it should be interesting nonetheless. You can register for this event online here.
